Milestones

I can't believe how many new things Ada Louise has been doing since we have moved to Omaha! She is, most likely, some kind of super baby genius. In the past 6 weeks she has learned to clap (which is super, ridiculous cute), drinks out of a regular, non-sippy cup by herself (unless she is cranky, in which case she dumps it all over herself or the floor...or Olivia the Pug), crawls up the stairs (and attempts to crawl down unsuccessfully), stands up by herself for long periods of time, and can turn all the pages in her books (she gets SO excited when I put her in her crib for a nap or at night with her book about animals or a peek-a-boo book). By Christmas, I worry she will be a teenager...

  1. Thanks, Erin for visiting my blog and your nice comments. I just caught up on your blog -- sounds like you've been really taking advantage of all the good things that Omaha offers. You put me to shame! I have yet to take my baby to the museum, the farmer's market or Fontenelle Forest! Love the suggestion for the Acorn place -- will have to try it.

Re: your idea for a business. Honestly I don't know anything like it. I don't know if you've stopped into my shop Trocadero in the Old Market. I stock some baby items that I love (Aden +Anais swaddle blankets, Maileg rattles, The Very Hungry Caterpillar book) but that's it. I think you're better off doing something in Dundee or even further west where "the mommies" are. I know you mentioned Baby Junk; I haven't been there but might have to pick up that amber thing since my baby is irritable these days! She has two bottom teeth that have popped out but slow to grow and I think they hurt as they come in (even after they break thru the gum).

Anyway, welcome to Omaha. And do let me know if you have any questions or need advice. You can shoot me an email at the shop: shoptrocadero (at) mac (dot) com
